Fenugreek for Hair: A Seed Extract in Evera Shampoos and Masks

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) is a seed used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Mediterranean traditions, including in hair care. In Evera it appears as an organic-farmed seed extract in our Moisturising and Supherbal shampoos and masks.

What Fenugreek Is Traditionally Used For

Fenugreek seeds contain protein, mucilage and other plant compounds. The traditional uses below are not claims about Evera's results.

Protein — Fenugreek seeds are rich in plant protein, and the seed is traditionally used to condition hair.

Mucilage — The mucilage in fenugreek seed is slippery and holds water, which is why it appears in traditional conditioning treatments for dry hair.

Iron and antioxidants — Fenugreek contains iron and antioxidant compounds. We do not claim that using it on the scalp improves scalp health or hair growth.

Fenugreek in Our Ingredient Lists

On the label it appears as Trigonella foenum-graecum seed extract, marked with an asterisk (*) to show that it comes from organic farming.

Organic farming restricts the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilisers.

Where You'll Find Fenugreek in Evera Products

Fenugreek seed extract is in the Moisturising and Supherbal Red, Blonde and Dark shampoos and masks:

Combined with other key botanicals like rice extracts, marshmallow root, and niacinamide (Vitamin B3) in different products. Each product page lists exactly what is in that formula.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is fenugreek safe for colour-treated hair?

Our shampoos and masks with fenugreek are made for regular use, including on coloured hair. We do not claim that fenugreek preserves colour. Our shampoos contain a sulfate cleanser (sodium coco-sulfate).

Can fenugreek help with hair loss?

No. Fenugreek is not a treatment for hair loss and we do not claim it affects hair growth or thinning. If you are losing hair, speak to your doctor or pharmacist.

How is Evera's fenugreek different from fenugreek hair masks I can make at home?

A home fenugreek mask uses soaked raw seeds and can be messy to apply and rinse. Evera's products use fenugreek seed extract in a ready-made formula. We do not claim it works better than a home mask.
