About these scalp care

Scalp Care — Healthy Hair Begins at the Root

You can't grow healthy hair out of an irritated scalp. Most dandruff shampoos and scalp scrubs go too hard — stripping the microbiome and triggering the rebound oiliness they're supposed to fix. Evera's scalp approach is the opposite: restore the barrier, balance oil production, and let the scalp do what it's designed to do.

Our scalp-focused range is sulphate-free, silicone-free, and made with cold-extracted botanicals that calm without sedating — chamomile, marshmallow root, and green-tea polyphenols for an anti-oxidant assist. Use the daily shampoo for maintenance, and the moisturising mask weekly if your scalp is flaking or tight.

  • Frequent Use Shampoo N1 — gentle daily cleanse, chamomile and green tea
  • Moisturising Mask No.2 — calms irritation, restores moisture
  • Liquid Gloss Nº0 — scalp-to-tip pre-wash treatment

Frequently asked

What does a healthy scalp look and feel like?

Even tone (no redness or flaking), no itching, balanced oil production (not greasy by mid-day, not flaking after washing), no tightness or tingling sensation post-wash. If yours has any of those issues, switch to a sulphate-free scalp-friendly routine for 4-6 weeks and re-assess.

Are sulphates bad for sensitive scalps?

Generally yes — SLS and SLES are known scalp irritants for sensitive skin. They strip the protective lipid layer, leaving the scalp vulnerable to dryness, redness, and reactive itch. Plant-derived sodium coco-sulfate (Evera's surfactant) is significantly gentler.

How often should I wash if my scalp is oily?

Daily is fine with a gentle sulphate-free shampoo like Evera Frequent Use Shampoo N1. Trying to 'train' the scalp by skipping washes often backfires — sebum production responds to scalp signals, not wash frequency. Just keep the shampoo gentle.

What about itchy or flaky scalp?

Persistent flaking with itching can be seborrheic dermatitis or scalp psoriasis (medical conditions — see a doctor or trichologist). For non-medical mild dryness or sensitivity, Evera's Frequent Use Shampoo N1 with calendula and aloe vera tends to calm sensitive scalps within 2-3 weeks of consistent use.

Which Evera products are designed for scalp health?

Frequent Use Shampoo N1 is the most scalp-gentle in the range — calendula + aloe vera + sodium coco-sulfate. Use daily. Avoid heavy oils on the scalp itself. Apply conditioner only to lengths, not roots.
