Silicone-Free Hair Care

Silicones coat hair; Evera's shampoos, conditioner, masks, Liquid Gloss and Styling Nectar are made without them. Start with Frequent Use Shampoo N1 and Frequent Use Conditioner N1 for daily care, then add Moisturising Mask No.2 for dry hair. Everything in this collection is vegan, paraben-free and made in Italy. One styling product does contain a silicone, Mousse No.10 (amodimethicone), so it is not part of this collection.

What silicone-free means here

Silicones such as dimethicone and amodimethicone form a coating on the hair that adds slip and shine. They are common in hair care, and whether to avoid them is a matter of preference. Every product below has no silicones on its ingredient list.

How to choose

• Every day: Frequent Use Shampoo N1 and Frequent Use Conditioner N1, both 250 ml.
• Dry, frizzy or curly: Moisturising Shampoo No.2 and Moisturising Mask No.2 (180 ml).
• Coloured: Supherbal shampoos No.3, No.4 and No.5, and masks No.3, No.4 and No.5.
• Finishing: Liquid Gloss Treatment Nº0 (125 ml), a five-minute protein treatment for shine and detangling that contains hydrolysed soy and wheat proteins, and Styling Nectar No.11 (250 ml), a leave-in gel with aloe vera for wavy or curly hair.

What is in them

Being free of silicones says nothing about the cleanser. The shampoos use sodium coco-sulfate, a gentle, coconut-derived cleanser. The conditioner and masks are built on fatty alcohols and conditioning agents with plant extracts. Every product is paraben-free, vegan and never tested on animals.

Is every Evera product silicone-free?

No. The shampoos, conditioner, masks, Liquid Gloss and Styling Nectar are, but Mousse No.10 contains amodimethicone, a silicone.

Do the shampoos contain sulfates?

Yes. Each shampoo uses sodium coco-sulfate, a coconut-derived cleanser. Being free of silicones says nothing about the cleanser.

How can I check a product for silicones?

Read the ingredient list for names ending in -cone, -conol or -siloxane, such as dimethicone, amodimethicone or cyclopentasiloxane.

Is silicone-free better for my hair?

Not necessarily. Silicones are widely used, and if you like how they feel you can keep using them. If you would rather avoid a coating on your hair, these products are made without one.
