On formulation integrity and cost.

Our cold-pressed Italian olive leaf extract, a key component in several formulations, represents a significant proportion of our raw material spend. This ingredient is sourced from organic-farmed botanicals.

Maintaining such sourcing is a deliberate choice, reflecting our commitment to the efficacy of our products. The cost of materials directly correlates with their quality, particularly when seeking specific botanical fractions or high-grade essential oils with optimal lipid profiles.

This often presents a tension between product integrity and manufacturing costs. For many brands, pressure to reduce expenditure can lead to material substitutions or reduced active ingredient percentages.

Most haircare brands might opt to replace a costly extract with a cheaper synthetic analogue or dilute an oil with a less effective carrier to maintain profit margins. Evera, however, adheres to its original formulation, even when raw material prices fluctuate. This ensures the consistency of the product’s intended benefit.

Consider the precise balance of polysaccharides and glycerides required for optimal hair fibre penetration. Altering these ratios by substituting ingredients can fundamentally change the product’s molecular interaction with the hair structure, rendering it less effective.

Our approach prioritises the integrity of the INCI — the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients — listed on our packaging. Each ingredient is selected for its specific cosmetic purpose, not for its low cost.

This stance means we sometimes absorb increased material costs rather than compromise on the botanical profile. We believe that consistent, verifiable results are more valuable than short-term cost savings.

The careful control over parameters like pH during production further underscores this dedication. Reformulating for cost often necessitates compromises in processing, which can impact the stability and potency of delicate plant actives.

Our formulations are designed for a specific purpose, using ingredients chosen for their role in the formula. We remain committed to this principle, ensuring that what we promise in efficacy is consistently delivered.
